NEET Result Valid For 3 Years From 2019
In a move to help and promote thousands of students who wish to study MBBS abroad in Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, China and other countries, it is planning to make NEET result valid for 3 years from 2019. This would help the students to take MBBS admission abroad in above countries for next few years too based on their previous year’s NEET score. Currently, NEET score of only the current year is valid for MBBS admission abroad and each year students have to appear and qualify it for studying MBBS in Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, China, etc.
If sources are to be believed, the Union Health & Welfare Ministry of India has already cleared the proposal from the MCI (Medical Council of India) & Board of Governors regarding the same. The decision comes in the wake of the fact that it would help students who are living out of India and want to come back to India after completing their MBBS abroad. This would also provide sufficient time to students to decide a suitable destination for studying MBBS abroad once they clear the NEET exam.
Students who complete MBBS from abroad, have to take the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) and qualify it to get medical license for practicing as a medical practitioner in India. Before NEET was made a qualifying criteria for students to take MBBS admission abroad, they had to score a minimum of 50 percent in 12th / intermediate to get an eligibility certificate from MCI before departing from India to destination country.
Important Points :
- NEET was made compulsory for students to qualify for studying abroad from year 2018.
- More than 7000 students from India take MBBS admission in Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan & China alone every year.
- Approx. 15 Lac students will be appearing in NEET 2019 this year.
